One Month!!!!

Routine: Still working out my own routine, but mommy also thinks I am going through a growth spurt. I am napping a little less, and eating a lot more!

Bedtime/sleeping: Remember that growth spurt mom mentioned... that has me not sleeping as well. The last few nights I have been up every two hours or so to eat. Mommy was a little frustrated because she was so tired, but I know she loves me so much! When it gets closer to the morning I sleep a little longer.

Eating: Again, another reason mommy thinks I am growing is because I am eating a lot during the day. Usually every 2 hours. Daddy also says I go through the 4 ounce bottle quickly at night and still seem hungry! Growing boy!

Size: Although I am still in my newborn clothing, I am gaining weight. I am starting to fill out and mommy even says I have double chins! She weighed me again and I was over eight pounds! Mom calls me a chunky monkey!

First:
Holiday: Valentine's Day. Mommy and I made cookies for daddy and spent the day relaxing and watching movies. I think they were tired from staying up all night with me. Daddy took me to the store to get some treats for mommy!

Milestones: I really am holding my head up a lot lately. I also love to smile and even coo sometimes!

Memories: As Nolan mentioned before, this week has been a little rough. I really think he is having a growth spurt as he is eating a ton. I am hoping it will pass soon and we will get back into a better sleep routine. It is amazing though, no matter how little sleep I have I still get up and look at that face and am filled with joy and energy. I am so thankful that Shawn and I are both home so that we can rest!

Three Weeks Old

Routine: I am beginning to make my own routine. I am eating every 2-3 hours and am usually napping around the same times in the morning and afternoon.

Bedtime/sleeping: About the same... sleeping with mommy. They tried to put me in a rocking bassinet to sleep at night, but I wouldn't have it. Mommy stayed up all night... sorry mommy!

Eating: Like a champ!

Size: Gaining weight! Mommy tried weighing me with her on the scale and she said I was now over 7 pounds!

First:
Bottle: Mommy pumped some milk for me and daddy got up in the middle of the night to give it to me so mommy could sleep. He said I took it great and downed 4 ounces like a champ!
Bath: I took a real bath this week, not just a sponge bath. I actually didn't mind it that much, only when they took me out of the warm water.
Big trip: to Dubai to eat lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe
Cloth diapers: Mommy has started putting me in one a day.

Milestones: I love tummy time and do really well turning and lifting my head. I also started smiling this week and following mommy and daddy with my eyes!

Memories: I can't believe how fast the time is going by. Little man is growing so much and I keep learning everyday. Nolan's friend Brooke was born this week and we went to visit her in the hospital. I can't believe that was almost a month ago for us! I found a bassinet at the store that rocks itself, so tried putting Nolan in there to sleep at night. I stayed up all night, but he just wouldn't sleep longer than 30 minutes in there. I am having him sleep with me still, but he is napping in the bassinet. One day at a time, right? Still feel so blessed he is mine!

Two Weeks Old

Routine: Still working on that one! Learning the difference between night and day.

Bedtime/sleeping: I sleep really well in bed next to mommy, but not so well in my own crib. I have had a few nights where I sleep for 4-5 hours... that makes mommy really happy!

Eating: Doing really well with the breastfeeding... eating every two to three hours.

Size: When I went for my appointment this week I weighed 6 pounds 15 ounces. That means I gained 4 ounces. The doctor said this was alright because I probably lost weight the first week. The way I'm eating I'm sure I will gain more! Still wearing newborn clothing. Mommy and daddy bought me some new pants that fit, because all my others were too big!

First:
Trip to the park for a BBQ
Doctor check-up
Photo-shoot (newborn pictures in Abu Dhabi)

Milestones: When daddy put me on my tummy for tummy time I pushed and rolled over on my side. I also try to wiggle my way across the blanket and carpet! I also like to stick out my tongue!

Memories: Still loving the cuddles. We went to take newborn photos when Nolan was 10 days old and he did really well. We (mommy and daddy) were so proud watching him and seeing his cute face. He is still a good baby, sleeping well and not crying too much. He had some stomach pain this week and we did get some gas medicine that helped. Love this little boy!!!

One Week Old

Routine: Hey guys... I'm only one week old. I'm still trying to figure out what in the world just happened. I sleep, eat, and poop. I am learning the difference between day and night.

Bedtime/sleeping: Mommy says I am a real good baby. I sleep well during the night. The first night I was home, mommy put me in this bed by myself and I cried. She brought me into bed with her to eat and I stayed there. Right now I sleep beside mommy every night and I have slept as long as a 5 hour stretch at night. She says I can't stay in bed with her forever, but right now she wants some sleep too!

Eating: My first few days of life were hard. The first day I wouldn't wake up to eat and even after I did wake up, I still had a hard time feeding. It was hard to learn how to feed. By the third day though I began to catch on and now I love to eat! Mommy says I'm an eating machine! She is becoming one also though. Nobody told her how hungry she would be when breastfeeding.

Size: I barely fit into my newborn clothing. Mommy and daddy went shopping for some things to fit me better, including a preemie sleep suit.

First:
Trip: to the doctor for my heel prick and then the mall for some clothing when I was 4 days old
Bath: a wipe down with a washcloth at home my first night there. I hated it... still do!

Milestones: Well I was born... that was important :) I also look at my mommy's and daddy's face and can recognize there voices!

Memories: Mommy says: I was scared to bring him home from the hospital. What if he didn't eat enough or something happened... but I was amazed how quickly things clicked. Shawn has been a great help, changing diapers and letting me have time to rest. I spend so much time staring at his sweet face and cuddling with him. We can't believe he is ours!!!!
